I support research investigating changes in circulating miRNA profiles in response to disease. Our goal is to identify molecular signals present in easily accessible biological samples (plasma or serum) that can be used to predict or diagnose disease. I spend most of my time at the bench processing biological samples for RNA isolation, building small RNA libraries for sequencing, and validating sequencing results with qPCR.

I am a native of the Pacific Northwest and enjoy many of the typical PNW outdoor activities like hiking in the rain, running in the rain, kayaking in the rain, camping in the rain. When its not raining, I also enjoy the above activities. On a typical weekend, you’ll find me hunting for treasures at estate sales, slow cooking family meals, or playing at the beach.
