Priyanka Baloni is a postdoctoral fellow in Nathan Price’s lab at the Institute of Systems Biology, Seattle. Her expertise in the field of constraint-based modeling, multi-omics analysis, networks biology, statistical analysis and background in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology as well as zoology, has helped her in accomplishing the goals of various projects that she is involved in.
Priyanka obtained her PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. Her research work mainly focused on identifying the key molecular players in latent tuberculosis infection, one of the forms of TB that goes undetected in the individuals. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and later, Master of Science degree in Microbiology, and thus transitioned from studying the organisms at macroscopic and microscopic levels. During PhD, she developed her computational skills and got introduced to the field of Systems Biology. Studying host-pathogen interactions interested her to pursue research in this area.
